Train With Us

Dear Community,

Ā

As we move through the shortest days of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, despite the pressures of the end of the year and the holidays, I am using the darkness to do my own wintering. As a human who generally craves light and warmth, I have historically found the winter solstice to be a time I wanted to ā€œjust get through.ā€ So, this year I am experimenting with savoring all the tiny pockets of solitude and quiet I can find, and wondering what I can initiate and grow in the new year.

In looking forward, I am also reflecting on the last year, which has been transformational for the Center for Trauma and Embodiment. We laid the groundwork for stepping out as our own independent non-profit, which we achieved in July! We also brought on new team members, shifted roles, and took on new initiatives. Here’s a highlight of other wonderful milestones accomplished to this year:Ā

Through the guidance and vision of Candace Liger, Trauma Informed Weight Lifting (TIWL) grew its offerings to include more opportunities for specialized learning, mentorship, and self-paced learning.

Anna Malmi and Blaire Embrey have worked to support facilitators and trainers of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) in building community and sharing their incredible work with the larger world. TCTSY will also be launching new specialty trainings in 2026 that we can’t wait to share.

We launched a podcast, On Trauma and Power, where I had the honor of having complex and moving conversations with people doing amazing work and innovating in the field of trauma healing.

Our newest program, Trauma Informed Mindful Eating (TIME), will offer its first training in January. In addition, Kristen Zappone and Helena Benton have co-created TIME within an interoception-based framework to explore the intersection of nourishment, embodiment, and trauma.

ReScripted founders Val Krpata, Sarah Carter and Sasha CorradoĀ  launched Trauma Informed Improv & Play, a framework that brings play and improvisation to bring the healing capacity of embodied play and improvisation to those healing from complex trauma.Ā

Dave Emerson has formed the Massachusetts Trauma Healing Coalition, a multi disciplinary team that seeks to normalize the healing of psychological trauma and bring healing opportunities into the wider public throughout Massachusetts.Ā

We believe healing belongs in every corner of our lives. Every person impacted by trauma deserves the agency to choose exactly how, where, and what their path to recovery looks like. To honor this, we have spent the past year expanding our offerings and evolving our mission to make that autonomy possible for more people

As we move into 2026, our team at CFTE remains deeply committed to expanding our mission of redefining healing. I am beyond excited to see what we can create in the year ahead and am grateful to have you as part of this movement.

With deep appreciation,

JennĀ
