It is especially supportive for those interested in using improv and play to create safer, more connected, and engaging group experiences — whether you’re new to TIIP or expanding your clinical toolkit.

Description
Trauma informed improv and play (TIIP) is a new framework that combines components of body-first therapy with improvisation and experiential activities. This training provides an overview of the impact of trauma and methods for group-based experiential activities with a trauma-informed approach.
You will learn an introduction to the basic tenets of TIIP and clinical skills grounded in TIIP. The target audience for this training is clinicians who run groups and want to learn about an innovative trauma treatment.

Trauma informed improv and play (TIIP) is a new framework that combines components of body-first therapy with improvisation and experiential activities. This training provides an overview of the impact of trauma and how to provide group-based experiential activities with a trauma-informed approach.
You will learn skills and techniques to facilitate group therapy grounded in TIIP. You will practice leading improv activities and games that you can immediately implement in your own work. The target audience for this training is clinicians who run groups and want to gain practical interventions.

The TIIP Team
We are master’s-level therapists with decades of experience treating trauma in mental health and social work settings, specializing in using improvisation, play, theatre, and movement for healing. In 2014, we came together in a therapeutic theatre group to support youth with complex trauma. Partnering with CFTE in 2018, we developed Trauma Informed Improv and Play (TIIP).
